Just for today I will strengthen my mind. I will study. I will learn something useful. I will not be a mental loafer. I will read something that requires effort, thought and concentration.
Just for today I will live through this day only and not tackle all my problems at once. I can do something for 12 hours that would appall me if I felt that I had to keep it up for a lifetime.
Just for today I will be happy.
Just for today I will adjust myself to what is and not attempt to adjust everything to my own desires.
Just for today I will exercise my soul in three ways: I will do somebody a good turn, and not get found out. I will do at least two things do not want to do, just for the discipline. I will not show anyone that my feelings are hurt.
Just for today I will be agreeable. I will look as good as I can, keep my voice calm, be kind.
Just for today I will not judge and control my thoughts and not let them swirl about in my head causing trouble for myself and others. I will ask others for clarification.
Just for today I will have a program or a plan and I will follow it without rushing or indecision.
Just for today I will have a quiet half hour all to myself to relax and just be.
Just for today I will be unafraid. I will enjoy the beauty in my self and the world around me and that is what I will give the world, just for today.
